This Instant Pot Ranch Rice recipe is inexpensive and basically foolproof, as it doesn’t call for stirring, covering or even keeping a watchful eye. In this recipe, ranch seasoning punches up the flavor of plain rice, which is one of the most popular side dishes out there because it’s so versatile.

White rice is one of the most popular side dishes there is, partially because it’s inexpensive and versatile. Ranch is one of the most popular flavor’s out there because it has a little zing that sort of excited the taste buds. In this recipe, ranch seasoning punches up the flavor of plain rice. Just like my Instant Pot White Rice, this recipe is basically foolproof, as it doesn’t call for stirring, covering or even keeping a watchful eye. Here’s how I make Instant Pot Ranch Rice.

Instant Pot Ranch Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 cups long grain white rice

Instructions

Pour the water and oil into the Instant Pot.

Measure the rice and then rinse it out in the sink using a fine strainer.

Add the rice into the pot.

Set the Intant Pot to cook on manual high pressure for 4 minutes. (Set to cook for only 3 minutes if you like a very firm, al dente texture for your rice.)

Once the cooking cycle has finished, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes.

Move rice to a bowl.

Add the sour cream and the ranch mix and combine thoroughly.

Serve immediately.

Making rice is one of the easiest side dishes anyone could make. Using brown rice is even better for a person.

Ranch packets make everything better! I’ve never thought to use a packet when I’m preparing rice. It would really amp up the flavor.

So quick and easy but what is ranch dip seasoning? We can’t get that here in Ireland. What is it similar to and I might be able to recreate it over here!

This is one of the most popular brands here – https://www.hiddenvalley.com/products/dips-and-seasoning-and-salad-dressing-mixes/seasoning-and-salad-dressing-mixes/original-ranch/. I haven’t made my own but have seen “copycat” recipes for it made from different seasonings so you might be able to try that.

I like the idea of using ranch in rice. I’ve never heard of it but based on the flavor I totally get it. While I don’t have an instant pot (I want want badly.) I will give this a try.

That’s a cool twist on white rice. Makes us think of Dorito’s Cool Ranch, but with rice instead (and without all of the extra nonsense they add to it!).

I have never tried incorporating ranch into our rice dishes, maybe I should try that one day. We always have rice in our dinner table everyday.

Rice is a staple dish in our homes. We usually eat rice with curry and vegetables. But this looks something novel. Would like to try this out.

I’ve never had a rice like this before. Sounds like a really interesting recipe. I don’t think I’ve ever bought ranch seasoning either. I’ll have to make this, I bet the kids would like it!
