I was thinking about Beef and Broccoli the other day. It’s such a great combination. I had a taste for it in my mind, but didn’t have any steak. I did have ground beef on hand that needed to be cooked, which left me wondering what Beef and Broccoli might taste like if it were with ground beef. I like the combination of broccoli and cheese a lot and wondered what it would be like to have cheese in the dish as well. I had some jarred cheese pasta sauce and figured Id put that to use too. Voila Instant Pot Beefy Broccoli Rice. This easy recipe is for a simple but tasty comfort food. 4 ingredients plus water and a little seasoning and the Instant Pot does the work for you. This meal is a great choice for those busy nights where you want warm, filling comfort food on the table without lots of time and effort. Here’s how to make it.
Instant Pot Beefy Broccoli Rice
- electric pressure cooker (I used a 6 qt Instant Pot)
- cooking spoon
- measuring cups
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 3.5 cups water
- 1.5 cups rice
- 12 oz frozen chopped broccoli
- 1 jar double cheddar pasta sauce
- onion powder
- garlic powder
Place the ground beef into the pot. Set the pressure cooker to saute and brown the ground beef.
Once the beef has browned, add in the rice and water.
Make sure to flatten out the rice as much as possible so that it’s entirely covered by water.
Set the pressure cooker to cook on manual high for 7 minutes.
Once cooking has finished, do a quick pressure release.
Add the pasta sauce, onion powder nd garlic powder, followed by the broccoli.
Set the pressure cooker to cook on the steam setting for 3 minutes.
Once the broccoli has finished steaming, give the contents of the pot a stir.
