Celebrate Father’s Day With Sports Themed Chocolate Covered Oreos

I found myself thinking about Oreos again yesterday. What else is new. With Father’s Day around the corner, I thought it would be fun to make some sports themed chocolate covered Oreos. They were so easy to make, and took about 20 minutes. Here’s how I made them.

SPORTS THEMED CHOCOLATE COVERED OREOS

INGREDIENTS

• 1 sleeve Oreos
• 1 package white chocolate candy melts
• tube of red Wilton decorating gel

INSTRUCTIONS

Soften the chocolate. I microwaved mine for 2 minutes.

Dip your Oreos in the chocolate. I like to use tongs. After dipping the cookie, keep it in the air for a moment so some of the excess chocolate drips off.

Place the dipped Oreos onto a plate lined with wax or parchment paper.

Try to leave a little room between them, otherwise they might stick together, which often means they’ll break when you try to separate them.

Refrigerate for 10 minutes.

Remove from fridge.

Decorate the cookies. I’m definitely no artist but both of my sons and my husband were easily able to see what the cookies were supposed to be.

Refrigerate another 5-10 minutes before serving just to help the gel decoration set a little.
