Bread

I call them ends. I don’t really care for them so avoid them unless here is no other bread.

What do you call them? do you use them or avoid them?

Honest to god, I throw them away. I always call them the ends and they are the worst part of a loaf if you ask me LOL!

I hate them. I think they are dense. My husband calls them heels and he loves them to death!

I used to hate the ends of the bread! As I have gotten older I have actually grown to love them toasted with a hint of butter.

My daughter loves to eat the ends of the bread loaf. When we were younger my parents used to save them to feed the birds!

I call them ends. I’ve heard you can make breadcrumbs, but I’m too lazy.

I call them heels. I flip them inside out and use them as sandwich bread for my kids. As long as they are crust side in, they don’t notice and they goggle them up:)

I call these pieces the end slices and eat them because the children don’t like to eat them.

Those are the butts of the bread. At least that’s what we grew up calling them, and I avoided them at all costs, still do with my own family.

They’re perfect for meatloaf. If we’re not having meatloaf (or something else that takes bread pieces), my kids break them up and toss them in the yard for the birds.

I usually call them the ends of the bread. And we never eat them, except if I’m making bread pudding or something like that.

We call them ends! Since gluten free bread is so expensive we save them to make croutons, stuffing and bread crumbs!

Heels.. I’ve never heard that one!! I call them ends. And I tend to chuck them… even though it’s so wasteful, I know!

I put the end on the inside. That way, when I’m eating my sandwich it doesn’t look like an end. The outside looks like a regular slice. It’s a brain game.

Maybe it’s because I am English, but I call them the ‘toppies’. It depends on the bread as to whether we eat them or not. I love them from fresh home baked bread and French bread. I will make breadcrumbs from the toppies and freeze…great for coating fish for a fish ‘n’ chip dinner! :O)
