REVIEW – Venta LW45 Airwasher

This winter was brutal. Not only was it freezing cold,but our first FULL winter in Ohio. In our new house we have forced heat. As we all know,it sucks any moister out of the air. I would suffer from bad nose bleeds, dry skin,scalp…it was awful! Spring is finally here(kind of- lol) so now my allergies are terrible! Seems like I just can’t win!

Venta was kind enough to send me the LW45 model for review. This is the most powerful airwasher they have for rooms up to 800sq. feet.

Set-up was really simple. It has a 3 gallon water reservoir. So I Filled it up,and added two small bottles of their water treatment additive. The additive help to prevent calcium and lime build-up and to make the water more anti-bacterial. The water additive does not evaporate. It will remain in the water reservoir until you pour it out to clean it, which is about every two weeks. Each time you add fresh water to your Venta Airwasher, it will reactivate the water additive. If you look on the Venta website you can buy a bigger bottle, which would last about 5 months. They also sell essential oils you can add to your airwasher.

Venta Airwashers are amazing! They work with your heating/cooling systems to rehydrate the air and “wash” it. What do I mean by washing the air? Well, we all know that there are tons of nasty things we breath in daily. Airborne bacteria, dirt, and allergens are all trapped inside the unit by the two disk drums that rotate inside. That’s right- no filters! The Venta Airwashers do not use filters ,so they are very low maintenance which I love. If the water level is low or empty, the unit will automatically shut off.

The Venta Airwasher has 3 speeds. Can we talk about how quiet this unit is?!?! We currently have it in our bedroom and can easily watch TV with no issues, even if it is on the highest speed. The entire unit itself is fairly light. This makes cleaning a lot easier. I really love that this is simple to use. Often my husband is out on the road, and usually comes home to a honey-do list! The Venta unit is light enough so I can clean it, and pretty straight forward. No messing with filters or anything else. I just have to fill the unit with fresh water.

I have been using the Venta Airwasher for about 2 weeks now. The difference is amazing! I think my skin shows that! My face is not dry,no itchy scalp, and my sinuses feel great. LW45 is the biggest unit and also comes with a pretty big price tag. It will set you back about $400 ,but it is MOST defiantly worth every penny.
