6 Tips for Solo Travel in Edmonton

Edmonton has so much to offer many different types of visitors, including those who are traveling alone. Whether you’re visiting the city for the first time or you’re returning for another visit, keep these tips in mind when you are traveling to Edmonton by yourself.

1. Stay Safe

Edmonton has an excellent safety record, but you still need to stay cautious when you are traveling alone. Just like you would in any other city, you will need to stick to well-lit, populated areas while you are exploring Edmonton.

2. Be Friendly

Just because you are traveling solo, you certainly don’t need to spend your entire time in Edmonton alone. You’ll find that Edmonton locals are excited to meet new people, so don’t be afraid to start a new conversation. Edmonton residents can tell you the best places to eat, grab a cup of coffee or enjoy the beautiful scenery.

3. Develop a List of Priorities

One of the biggest benefits of traveling alone is that you have full control over your schedule. If you want to spend the day on a walking tour or sleep in late and stay out late at night, you can do so without inconveniencing anyone else. You don’t want to end your vacation with regrets, so take a few minutes to jot down your top priorities while you are in Edmonton. Once you arrive in the city and start exploring, it’s easy for your time to fill up very quickly. When you have your priority list in writing, you can develop a basic plan and schedule for your vacation.
