Tastefully Simple

I am all for using products that help me save time in the kitchen. It’s even better if those products help me put together a tasty dish. Recently I received several products from the Tastefully Simply line. Shortly after I realized that there is a popular euphemism that describes them perfectly – #cookinghack.

When I think of the term #cookinghack I think of it as meaning something that saves you time. And that is definitely something Tastefully Simple can do. Their products are easy to make – hence the simple in their name. And, they certainly are tasty. If you are into entertaining and need some help in the kitchen, Tastefully Simple is a great place to look for that help.

Here’s how a meal for a group of guests might go.

Tastefully Simple

If it’s a hot afternoon or evening get things started with a drink. The Strawberry Daiquiri Mix comes in an 11 ounce mix and retails for $9.99. To make the drinks you add run, water and ice. Strawberry Daiquiris are one of my most favorite drinks ever. With this mix they were effortless to make. The pouch makes six drinks, which went so fast I didn’t even have an opportunity to get a photo.

Simply Salsa

Start with a simple appetizer like chips and salsa. No time or desire to make homemade salsa? No problem! Combine the Simply Salsa Mix with a can of diced tomatoes and you’ll have a bowl full of salsa in an hour. Simply Salsa come sin a 3.5 oz jar and retails for $8.99. It contains onion, bell peppers, jalapeño peppers, garlic, cilantro, crushed red chili peppers, salt, spices. The directions don’t say whether or not you should drain the tomatoes. I did drain mine about half way. I can’t say this salsa is mild (my favorite). I also can’t say that it’s hot but it does have a litle zip and kick to it.

Tomato garlic pesto chicken & pasta

I used the Dried tomato And Garlic Pesto mix on both the meat and the pasta. The Dried Tomato And garlic Pesto Mix comes in a 2.8 oz bottle and retails for $8.99. To use it you only need to mix it with olive oil and water. You can smell the freshness when you make the pesto. The taste is a really nice blend, not too strong and not too nutty like I have seen some pestos.

Alternatively, I could have made the chicken using the Everyday Grillin Seasoning. This 5 oz bottle has a retail price of $8.99. This is great to keep on hand because it can be used for all sorts of things including steak, chicken, burgers and more. I set ours aside, knowing we’d put it to use over the weekend when we tried making burgers with it.

Nana's Apple Cake Mix

Bring on dessert!

Nana’s Apple Cake Mix is super easy to use. It comes in a 16.5 oz box and retails for $6.99. As far as prep goes, just mix in some apples and eggs and stir. Tough, right? Bake for 40 minutes or so and you have an amazing cake that is really moist and chuck full of apples. It’s almost more apples than cake, truthfully. I loved this cake and was very sad to see that it was gone. I can taste the brown sugar in my mind right now and wish we had some more.

You’ll feel pleased when you hear your guests praise the meal you served.

In the morning, treat yourself to a freshly baked breakfast treat with the Cinnamon Muffin Melt. This mix comes in a 19 oz box and retails for $7.49. To make the muffins all you do is add butter and water.

When used one at a time the Tastefully Simple products make for tasty dishes. When used simultaneously they make for a delicious meal that your guests will think you had a chef make.

I want to try that apple cake. It looks great! I love semi-homemade things that are easy to prepare - especially when I am having company over.

That's the kind of cooking I love the most. My goal is to do the least amount in the kitchen possible, but make it look like I was in there for hours. LOL
