August is a month I often find myself thinking about how thankful I am. Obviously it isn’t because it’s Thanksgiving. It’s because August is the month of my birthday. I tend to reflect a lot around my birthday, like many of us do I guess. This year I have a lot to be thankful for. My Dad is recovering from a heart attack, I have two beautiful boys, parents that love me, my health, I could go on and on.

Schwan’s and Feeding America is currently encouraging consumers like you and I to share a few words on what we’re are thankful for over on the Schwan’s Facebook page. Schwan’s is making an initial donation of 250,000 meals to Feeding America. For each “thankful” that is shared, that will trigger a five-meal donation to Feeding America. And in case that’s not enough, Schwan’s is also holding “Thankful Thursdays,” where meal donations to Feeding America are doubled each Thursday for the length of program. All of these are awesome ways to help fight hunger. To participate, go to Schwans.com/thanks.

For those of you unfamiliar with Schwan’s, they are America’s largest direct-to-home food delivery service. They carry over 350 items, from appetizers to desserts, ice cream to complete meals. I recently had the opportunity to try Schwan’s Italian Style Cheese Stuffed Chicken. The box comes with four individually wrapped portions of chicken topped with Panko and herbs and stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, romano cheese and sun-dried tomatoes.

The chicken is easy to cook, you bake it for about 30 minutes and serve with your favorite sides. I really enjoyed the chicken a lot and look forward to having it again.
