Recently I shared some news from Stouffers Lasagna. The new said that Stouffer’s Lasagna was determined to be America’s Favorite Lasagna, based upon retail frozen lasagna sales. Now even though I generally make my own lasanga I have tried a number of the frozen ones. But not Stouffer’s, which is why I was happy to be able to give it a try.
I received some coupons to pick up my own Stouffer’s Lasagna. The Stouffer’s website shows there being five or six including Lasagna Italiano, Lasagna with Meat & Sauce, Five Cheese Lasagna, Chicken Lasagna, Meat Sauce Lasagna made with Whole Grains, Vegetable Lasagna made with Whole Grains, and Lasagna Bake with Meat Sauce. My store only had two, so I chose the Lasagna with Meat Sauce.

Stouffer’s Lasagna is easy to make. It’s frozen and you can heat it in the microwave or oven. I was surprised at how long it takes to cook – almost 20 minutes in the microwave and almost 60 minutes in the oven. I used the microwave, because if I can wait 60 minutes for lasagna I can have my own and have enough for everyone and have leftovers too.

I couldn’t get a good photo of a slice of the lasagna at all, it just didn’t stay in slice formation once out of the try. This is a photo of a slice from the website.

The sauce is very different than the ones I usually use, it’s a little on the sweet side but in a pleasant way. It’s on the thicker side. The noodles were cooked and tender without being soggy, soft, crispy or hard. You can taste the meat but I would prefer to see a bit more meat in there. The cheese was gooey and tasty, and there was a good amount of it. This large size box retails regularly for just under $4 in my grocery store. Even though the taste was good, the price is a tad too high for me for the few amount of servings it offers.
