MY THOUGHTS
There are four different Roku Streaming Players. I received a Roku 2 XS Streaming Player. The Roku 2 XS Streaming Player does HD video (1080p), has an ethernet and USB port, and comes with an enhanced remote with motion control for games. Besides the remote, the Roku 2 XS comes with 2x AA batteries, an A/V cable, and an A/C Power adapter.

The Roku is super small and doesn’t take up a lot of room. It fits in the palm of your hand, a great feature for those who just don’t have room for another component in their house. The Roku is very easy to connect, it only takes a couple of minutes. To connect it you just plug the AC adapter into the Roku and connect the Roku to the tv. You can connect the Roku 2 XS using a regular AV cable, which is included, or by using an HDMI caable purchased separately. You then connect the Roku to the internet, either via ethernet cable or wirelessly like I did. After creating a Roku account, you select the channels you want. Some channels, movies and shows are free, others have a charge. You can also select games.
The best thing about having a Roku Streaming Player is that if you have it and a couple of channels you can probably get rid of your expensive monthly cable television service. There are channels like Crackle that stream movies for free, and there are others. You can also connect to paid subscriptions such as your Netflix account, Hulu Plus or Amazon Video account as well. If you’re like us and love music, you can connect to Pandora, if you’d like to stream music. And last but far from least, you can stream your pictures and share them. For those that travel, vacation or even spend time in a second home, the Roku is a great way to have things to watch without having to have cable tv. It’s also be perfect in a small office setting, or in a waiting room. All in all the Roku offers a lot of programming and a lot of savings for a relatively little amount of money.
Roku Streaming Players retail for $49 to $99 depending on the model you choose and are available for purchase online through the Roku store.

I have been hearing more about Roku and it is definitely something we are looking at. I'm tired of paying so much for cable.

This would be nice to not have to DVR my shows.. missed out on a lot of shows and would nice to catch up. The kids would be thrilled to play Angry Birds on the big screen. Thanks for sharing.
