Dobby loves his treats! I like to have a different variety for him. Recently we had the opportunity to try something new – PetSafe Indigo treats. The Indigo line of treats includes Smokehouse Strips, Fresh Dental Sauce, Fresh Dental Sticks, Fresh Floss Bones.
Smokehouse Strips are sort of like jerky for dogs. Dobby really enjoyed these, he gobbled them right up. Every time he saw me go for the bag he got excited. These treats are made with premium cuts of USDA-inspected chicken or pork. They contain no corn, wheat, or soy, also no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. The only thing I wish they would change about these is the package. The package comes vacuum sealed. Once open there’s no way to seal it shut again. Maybe they knew they’d disappear so fast that stale treats wouldn’t be an issue.
The Fresh Dental Sticks are made with natural chicken and blueberry flavors, and contain no wheat, corn, or soy. They also contain no artificial colors or preservatives. They do have a sort of minty smell. The smell is intended to help freshen your pets breath, while the texture and shape is designed to scrape away plaque and tartar. The Fresh Floss Bones are made of the same thing. I couldn’t believe how long this lasted. Unlike some treats, Dobby took a while to finish these off. Word to the wise though, if your dog takes a while to finish these, watch where you walk. Dobby left his next to one of his beds, which is near my desk. These things hurt to step on like Legos. We haven’t tried the Fresh Sauce yet, which is recommended for toy breeds and senior dogs. It’s a topping to go over the dog food that is supposed to freshen breath and remove tartar buildup.
