RB and I love coffee. We’re big coffee drinkers and while we have our favorites we also like to try new coffees. Recently we had the opportunity to try Gevalia Kaffee.

ABOUT GEVALIA
Gevalia, a new premium Swedish coffee from Kraft Foods, is making its way into U.S. retail stores for the first time this month. Known for its loyal following online, Gevalia has been around for more than 150 years – which makes the retail launch even more exciting for this historic brand.
MY THOUGHTS
I heard about Gevalia quite some time ago, but had never tried it. I first heard about it on television, and then from people I knew who said it was really good. But, it wasn’t available in stores at that time. Now if Gevalia wasn’t available in stores, you might wonder how it get to be known as delicious. Well, I can tell you. Gevalia has been around for a long time, but not here in the US. Gevalia has been in Sweden for over 150 years. That’s where Gevalia was born, in the seaside town of Gävle, Sweden in 1853. Gevalia has such a taste that it is actually an official coffee of the Swedish Royal Court.
Well, now Gevalia is available in stores, and I’ve finally gotten the opportunity to try it. I received a sample of Gevalia House Blend ground coffee. The House Blend bag describes this as a medium/dark blend. I generally stay away from anything that mentions Dark because I find it to be too bitter. We generally stick to light and medium strengths. We brewed this in our coffee machine. We were both pleasantly surprised to find the Gevalia House Blend to be full bodied and flavorful without being weak. Hubby doesn’t handle anything acidic well anymore and he was really glad that this coffee isn’t acidic like most of the darks we’ve tried in the past. We love our Keurig and prefer our coffee made by the cup for freshness when possible, so I think I am going to get one of those make your own K-cup thingys so I can make this by the cup. If you’re a coffee lover you’ll definitely want to give Gevalia Kaffee a try.
