Recently I learned of a “burger joint” that we don’t have in New Jersey – Jake’s Wayback Burgers.

ABOUT JAKE’S WAYBACK BURGERS

Jake’s Wayback Burgers serves the best burgers under the bun, hand-pattied from 100% fresh, never frozen ground beef and grilled to order. The restaurant offers The restaurant offers rich, thick milkshakes made the old-fashioned way by hand, using only fresh milk and hand-dipped ice cream.

After holding the “Great Burger Vote” on the company’s Facebook page and website, it was announced that a Turkey Dinner Burger would be added to the menu for the month of November. I was offered the opportunity to try the Turkey Dinner Burger. Since my family loves burgers we offered to try the new burger at their Tampa, Florida location while we’re on vacation.

The Jake’s Wayback Burgers in Tampa was a bit hard to find, our GPS kept putting us on the wrong corner of a busy four way intersection. We looked on all four corners and had decided that we’d make one more pass and if we didn’t find it we’d move on our way. Fortunately there was a sign at the street on our last corner that showed us where the restaurant was. Upon entering we were greeted by the manager, who was very friendly.

Jake’s menu is simple, offering basic fast food fare – hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken. RB and I tried the Turkey Dinner Burger. I was surprised at how moist and tasty it was. I wouldn’t have thought to make a burger with these particular ingredients, or to add a little mayo to it, but they all worked together and tasted great. TJ ordered a Big Jake Cheeseburger (triple cheeseburger), which he said was juicy and tasty. His girlfriend ordered the Chicken Fingers, which she said were “nummy”. I had a Chocolate Milk Shake, which I found to taste more like homemade than other fast food restaurants.

The Turkey Dinner Burger includes a Turkey Burger, secret recipe stuffing, tangy cranberry sauce, and mayo. It’s priced at $4.69 (price varies depending on location). The Turkey Dinner Burger and a Pumpkin Pie milkshake will be available until November 30.
