Recently I was contacted by the folks at Donsuemor, asking me if I’d like to try some of their baked goods. I love baked goods so of course I accepted.


Starting with an original French recipe, Don and Susie Morris (Don-Sue-Mor) introduced madeleines to their Berkeley, California “gourmet ghetto” community in 1976. Donsuemor Box

I received a box of various Donsuemor baked goods -Traditional Madeleines, Lemon Zest Madeleines, Chocolate Madeleines, Dipped Chocolate Madeleines, French Almond Cakes, Peppermint Bark Cute Cakes, Vanilla Cute Cakes and Chocolate Cute Cakes. The cakes inside the box looked as good as the pictures on the website. Everything we received was individually wrapped. The first thing I went for was the Traditional Madeleines. How moist and delicious they were! RB first tried the French Almond and was surprised at how soft they were. Each variety we tried seemed better than the last. My very favorite was the Chocolate Dipped Madeleines. These treats would be delicious when entertaining at home and they’d make a terrific gift as well.

Donsuemor Quick and Delicious Pumpkin Tiramisu

This recipe can be used throughout the year but adds beautiful elegance to your Thanksgiving table. You can make individual glasses of the tiramisu or make it in an 8×8 inch pan and serve as wedges. Garnish with whipped cream flavored with sugar and a dash of cinnamon.

  • 2 cups chilled whipping cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese*
  • 2 cups organic canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 30 Donsuemor Traditional Madeleine Cookies
  • 1/4 cup rum

In a mixer with fitted with a chilled metal bowl and beater attached, beat whipping cream and sugar until soft peaks form. Add the cheese, pumpkin, and spices; beating until smooth.
Line bottom of an 8 x 8 inch dish with the Madeleines, overlapping and crowding to fit. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons rum. Spread half of filling over Madeleines.
Repeat with the remaining Madeleines, remaining 2 tablespoons rum, and remaining filling. Smooth. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and then foil. Chill in the refrigerator overnight.
To serve, run a knife around the sides of the pan. Cut into wedges and serve with a sweetened cream.

I love these cookies and my son loves them more. I love to dunk the traditional madeleines in my coffee. The recipe looks yummy. Thanks for sharing with all your readers.
