How do you feel about aging? Are you fighting it, welcoming it with open arms, or trying to find a happy medium between the two? Lindsay shared her tips on how to keep a healthy glow, which I am now sharing with you with permission.
Ways to Retain a Healthy Glow at any Age
I’m sure through the course of your life you’ve stopped and admired from afar a person who seems to defy the laws of physics. They have a glow about them and their skin is as soft as a twenty-something-year-old yet you know they are much older. A youthful appearance is something that many women and even men desire. If you start a regimen in your teens and continue throughout your adult life you will keep a youthful face and body. Even if you are in your late thirties and early forties you can reverse the aging process and achieve a noticeable, healthy glow.
Many things go into creating a beautiful, seemingly ageless body. It’s a combination of a healthy diet, exercise, sunscreen, water and the use of creams, serums, toners and moisturizers like Dermaclara Basic to keep your skin hydrated and properly nourished. There are no shortcuts to retaining an ageless smile. The simple truth is that if you supply your body and skin with the necessary nutrients like beta-carotene, Vitamin C, selenium and zinc and apply at least an SPF-15 sunscreen before heading outdoors, you can diminish visible signs of aging. You can significantly reduce the appearance and development of sun spots, wrinkles, uneven tone, patches and dry skin.
Many people eat fruits and vegetables but can’t seem to find the time to work out. A study conducted in early 2014 by the McMaster University concluded that those who exercise moderately for three hours per week not only felt better more energized, but they actually had visible signs of reversing the aging process. When you get your heart rate up you burn off calories, tone your body and produce Endorphins, the feel good anxiety reducing hormones. Exercise shouldn’t be something to turn away from; it should be something you embrace. If the treadmill is not your thing take up bike riding, brisk walks, jogging or a sport. Anything that makes your heart pump and your body sweat is going to give you a great workout. Just a few days a week for a couple of hours a day and you’ll see a noticeable difference in short order.
Unfortunately, there is truth to the old expression you are what you eat. Your cells derive from the source of food received. What happens when you stray away from the pie chart of lean meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and nuts, is a release of toxins. These toxins surface to the skin as a blemish, acne, oily skin, dry skin, wrinkles and rashes. Bad eating habits don’t just affect the appearance of your skin they also show up in the hips, buttocks, waist and thighs. The good news is that you can reverse the damage. By removing the fast food and snacks with no value and replacing them with healthy meals and adding snacks with benefits like fruits, nuts, yogurt and granola you will begin to look good and feel better.
You work hard all week traveling back and forth to work, to school for the children, sporting events and bake and craft sales. Even if you work out 3 times a week and practice exceptional eating habits, working around the clock causes stress. Stress is the enemy to your skin. It produces similar signs of aging as a poor diet and creates the appearance of dull and blemished skin. Taking a vacation is all about relaxing and doing something you enjoy. If it’s been a while since you’ve really taken time for yourself, make a promise to yourself that this year it’s your turn. You’ll come home with a glow about you ready to tackle anything life throws your way.
In addition to a healthy diet, a weekly exercise regimen and pure down time, adding an anti-aging cream, toner and moisturizer like Dermaclara Basic to the skin can help to add a gratifying finish to your hard work. It provides you with a way to keep your skin moist, supple, toned and clean, helping you to retain a more youthful appearance and healthy glow well into your golden years.

No sun, minimal makeup, hydration are three biggies for me.
