Mystic Diner Of Mystic, CT – Travel Restaurant Review

I recently stopped in Mystic, CT while traveling from Boston. On the last day of my trip before heading home I was in the mood for an ice cream shake. (When am I not in the mood for a shake?) I was passing the Mystic Diner and saw that they had an ice cream window.

Before I had a chance to order I had to use the restroom, so I went inside. Boy am I glad that I did!

When I went inside I decided to get a cup of coffee and check out the menu. They have a ton of stuff on their menu! Breakfast foods include pancakes, eggs, french toast, waffles and more. And breakfast lovers will be happy to learn that they serve breakfast all day long! The lunch menu starts at 11am. Here you will find salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers and more. Dinner is available starting at 4pm. The dinner menu has many entrees featuring fish, chicken, and beef, as well as some Greek items and some pasta dishes.

I checked out the desserts. I love both ice cream shakes and cheesecake and I can’t say which would win in a duel to the death. That day, however, the cheesecake won the duel. The slice of cheesecake I got was enormous, big enough to make even me unable to even consider a second piece. I looked around and noticed that all of the breakfast meals that the other patrons had were very sizable as well.

I’ll definitely return to the Mystic Diner next time I am in the area. The food was good, portions large, ans pricing reasonable. The staff was very nice, my server even refilled my coffee in a to-go cup for my trip.
