  • candy melts in assorted colors
  • sprinkles (or jimmies if you prefer to call them that) in coordinating colors
  • assorted candies – Starburst, Spree, Mike & Ike

Instructions

Line a baking sheet with wax paper. (This helps ensure that the cookies are sticking to a pan or tray.)

Melt the candy melts according to instructions on the package, taking special care not to overheat the candy. If the candy coating is overheated, it will be too thick. You can add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or vegetable shortening to help thin the candy but do not add any other type of liquid as the candy will seize and harden.

Dip each cookie into the candy melts, making sure to completely coat the cookie.

Gently shake each cookie to remove excess candy, and then place onto the wax paper.

Immediately add the candy to create the “toe” and dust with coordinating sprinkles.

Allow the candy coating to harden before serving.

Should there be any remaining cookies (and that’s unlikely), store them in an airtight container at room temperature. Placing in the refrigerator may cause the cookie to soften.
