Life Stages Milestone Moments Photo Contest

As parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even siblings in some cases, we often find ourselves looking back over the past year each January. We recall the major milestones, as well as lots of life’s little moments.

That video snippet comes from footage that I took when my oldest was very young, about a year old. It brings memories flooding back. It makes me smile and laugh, and even cry a little – as so many of life’s little moments can do.

In celebration of all of life’s moments, a new site called Life Stages has launched. The goal of the site is to make sharing life’s special moments rewarding and provide content to help families plan for the future.

Often times as new parents we get wrapped up in the “new-ness”, cuteness, excitement, pride and other emotions that come to having a new baby. I remember distinctly being very caught up in the present when my youngest was little. Aside from the upcoming weeks or month, I didn’t give much thought to the future back then. By the time my second child was born that had changed, but that’s a whole other story.

I’ll share more about Life Stages in the near future. Right now I want to share some fun news with you. Life Stages will be holding monthly themed photo contests, open to parents of children 0-18. Each month there will be three $100 cash prizes awarded to the winning photos.

The January photo contest theme is Milestone Moments of 2015. You can choose to enter with any memorable moment you like, including first tooth, learning to ride a bike, starting school, or an Easter egg hunt. You can use any moment you like. While watching a child get and show his first tooth is cute, for some losing the first tooth is just as cute. Maybe there’s the first soccer goal, or the first somersault in gymnastics. Thinking you might not be able to narrow the special moments down to just one? No worries! You can enter as many photos in the contest as you like.

The contest is easy to enter. The first thing you do is upload your picture to Facebook. (You can also import a photo from Instagram.) Along with your entry, you will need to provide a caption that answers, “My child’s milestone moment of 2015 is…” Then, you can vote for your photo. You can vote every day, and you can encourage your friends and family members to vote as well. There are a total of three $100 cash prize winners. This month’s contest ends 1/31/15 11:59 PM EST.

Click here to enter now and/or check out some of the great entries that have submitted already!

This sounds like a great contest. I think my for my son it would have to be finishing high school.

The kids always enjoy finding a new weekend course that adds skills and understanding to the things they like to do (including photography!). Three cheers for this photography contest and their encouragement to add all the great pictures instead of limiting contestants to one or two. I enjoyed the video of your oldest at one.

My son started preschool this year, after a few years at an in-home daycare. He’s grown SO much! It’s been fun to see everything he has learned.

My kids enjoyed all the local travel spots we hit over the summer. We visited so many great places in 2015.

For my 5 year old, it was starting school. For my 2 year old, it was increasing his vocabulary. I think he know about 50+ words now!

Learning to roller skate was a pretty big deal around here in 2015! There are so many huge milestones, but the little ones tug at my heartstrings too.

So true! As my kids have gotten older I take less photos but wish I had more. This is very motivating.

I had to think hard about the best 2015 milestone moment. It was the day for getting Saint Patrick’s Day clovers and green glittery polish on her nails.

I am not sure we really had any milestone moments. My son has autism and we got him to open his mouth a t the dentist. That was pretty huge in our family.

It would be so hard to just pick one milestone moment out of my 3 children. Each of them happened at different times and were all special!

Easy. The special milestone moment for my grandchildren was the first day of high school!
