I have never considered myself a girly girl. I do not change purses every day. I do not own tons of shoes. I only own four pair of shoes – work shoes, sneakers and two pair of summer cork sandals. It’s funny because my Mom always had different shoes for us growing up. Now I just can’t see the point. Take rain boots, for example. While we’ve had a decent amount of rain lately I cannot see where I’d ever need special boots for the rain. Do people really use these? I remember there were duck shoes, and they were cute. But boots? I wouldn’t want to be stuck in them all day, which would mean I’d need to have another pair of shoes with me. I don’t want to carry around shoes all day. Do you wear rain boots? Do you carry around another pair of shoes so that you can take off the rain boots and wear something else?

Newsflash: Back in the day, people walked most places instead of driving to the mall. Downtown main streets were filled with mom and pop type store shoppers. Schools were smaller and in the middle of things; hence, almost all walkers for elementary K-8 at least. In cities people walked to public transportation. Hm, more exercise way back then.
