I love things that smell nice. I have a very difficult time shopping in a candle store because I have to smell everything and often struggle to pick out my absolute favorite. When I learned about Vellabox, I was intrigued. Just hearing about hand-poured candles made me smile in anticipation of lovely smells. I received a box containing two candles. One was Firewood Spice & Smoke and the other was Amber Vanilla. The box also included two candies and a coupon for a free beverage. Each of the jarred candles came wrapped in a cloth. As soon as I unwrapped the candles I detected a light scent. Once I opened the jars I was able to appreciate their scents fully. The Amber Vanilla was my favorite of the two. What are your candles made of?

Our Vellabox Candle Curator has some strict guidelines that she adheres to when choosing candles to place in the box. In order to continue along the same health conscious guidelines the company was built on, we do not place beeswax candles in the box in order to stay as vegan as possible. A lot of what you’ll find in our box are soy, coconut or vegetable based waxes. We do not place paraffin candles in the box nor do we allow lead wicks. When possible, we look for candles scented with 100% essential oils, but will allow for phthalate-free fragrances.
