Florida is one of my favorite places to go. I love to VISIT FLORIDA because there are a lot of fun things to do there. You name it, it's probably there. Air boats, alligators, amusement parks, animals, attractions, astronauts. All that and that's only things starting with the letter A! There are just as many great things starting with other letters to. Z is for zip lining.
For me, more then attractions and amusement parks, I love Florida because I have a lot of great memories that were made there. One of my favorite memories is from a trip that we took not long after I was married, so in the late 80s. This was before I had children. My whole family was there – my parents and all three brothers. I drove my car down, which at the time was a little Mustang convertible. Whenever we all wanted to go somewhere we all piled into, and onto, my car. We drove from park to park, out to eat, you name it we drove there. I had to put the roof down every time we wanted to go somewhere. There were three people in the front (one in each bucket seat and one sitting on the console). There were five people in the backseat, two on the seat and three on the deck lid. It was crowded and far from safe, but man was it fun!
When Ponce de Leon first explored Florida in 1513 I'm sure he had no idea that it would become one of the hottest vacation spots in the country, welcoming billions of visitors from all around the world. That's right, 1513. 500 years ago. What better way to celebrate 500 years, than to give away a trip every week in 2013?
Florida’s 500 Years of Adventure Sweepstakes kicked off back in January and runs throughout this year. You can enter to win each week. It's easy to enter, you only need to register with your email address.

The vacations that are prizes all sound great. One of the ones I'd love to win is a package for two to stay in Key West. Not only does it include accommodations, it also includes a rental car, a sunset cruise and a tour on the Old Town Trolley. It's a great combination of fun activities and relaxation.
Be sure to follow @VISITFLORIDA on Twitter to keep up with sweepstakes news as well as updates on new Florida adventures.

Wish I had a photo image of everyone together in that packed car playing nice.
