Ever have one of those days where things just seem sort of blah? Here are five ways you can easily add a little flavor to your day.
CIAO BELLA GELATO AND SORBETTO
We’re big fans of ice cream here. But sometimes you want something cold and refreshing that isn’t ice cream. Like gelato or sorbetto. Ciao Bella is very tasty indeed. It’s not as heavy as ice cream, and it’s more refreshing then ice cream if that makes sense. I think of these as sort of more for refined taste and not the same as ice cream and not competition for ice cream. Ciao Bella’s products have a texture you can taste, see and feel and even a scent.

FRUIT VINES BITES
Do you like licorice? If you do then you’re probably familiar with Red Vines. Well, those people have added a new product to their line – Fruit Vines Bites. Fruit Vines Bites are bite size chunks of licorice. The candy is currently available in strawberry and cherry flavors. These candies are chewy like a thick licorice, they’re not soft like a gummy. I like knowing that these chunky candies are low in fat and contain no preservatives. I have a small jar near my desk, one bite is a great little pick me up. These candies are perfect for folks who don’t want the longer piece of licorice but still want that familiar licorice flavor.

MARUKAN VINEGAR
I’m one of those people that’s always thought of vinegar for salad. Until I learned about Marukan a couple of years ago I never thought of it to use to add flavor to dishes with meat, poultry, fish, rice and more. Marukan uses all natural ingredients and many of its products are gluten-free. If you’re unsure what you can use it in or just need some inspiration look to the Marikan website for recipes for dressings, salads and other dishes.
When we think of vinegar, thoughts turn to the familiar red and white vinegar that’s been a staple in home kitchens and restaurants as long as we can remember. But American chefs (professional and otherwise) are increasingly discovering the flavor enhancement benefits of rice vinegar – and in particular the 350 year-old Japanese rice vinegar brand, Marukan.
Available around the country, Marukan offers a wide array of Non-GMO products that can add a fresh accent to anything from sushi to grilled fish to steak to salads. Indeed, Marukan’s gourmet rice vinegars are among the world’s most versatile culinary accents – adding enticingly delicate flavors to most any dish, salad, sauce, gravy, or soup.
Using the same time-honored, slow-brewed gourmet process that befits royalty, Marukan Rice Vinegar artisans today craft eight styles of rice vinegar and ponzu dressings. Varieties include the original best-selling Genuine Brewed and Seasoned Gourmet, as well as Seasoned Gourmet Lite, Organic and Organic Seasoned. Marukan also manufactures a gourmet line of artisan soy dressings with delicate citrus finishes: Yuzu Ponzu Premium with Yuzu Citrus, Ponzu Premium with Sudachi Citrus and Ponzu Premium Sudachi Citrus Marinade.

PIRATE’S BOOTY
We’re big fans of Pirate’s Booty here in our house. They’re a tasty snack and they’re gluten-free which means my youngest can safely eat them. Recently the folks at Pirate’s Booty added two new products to their line – Fruity Booty and Crunchy Treasures. Both products are baked and contain no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, which is how they manage to have 50 less fat and fewer calories than regular fried potato chips. And they’re gluten-free! And best of all, they taste great!
Pirate’s Booty Fruity Booty
Staying true to our adventurous spirit, we decided it was time to set sail for sweeter lands. We landed on a crunchy and fruity snack with delicious berry blasts made with real fruit…it’s a berried treasure unlike any other. These are cholesterol free and made with real fruit.

VERTICAL WATER
I have a maple tree next to my driveway. It drips sap on the roof of my Mustang and makes me pretty unhappy because it doesn’t come off easily. I sort of expected this water to taste thick and nasty like the stuff on my car roof looks. Fortunately, it didn’t look or taste like that. It’s got a lighter flavor then I feared it would have, and is considered suitable for drinking, cooking and using in beverages.
Vertical Water™ is 100% pure maple water right from the tree. It’s naturally low-calorie, with a lightly sweet, thirst-quenching taste.
· It’s a single ingredient, naturally low calorie beverage with a hint of sweetness
· It contains 40 trace minerals and nutrients not available from tap water
· It’s naturally occurring with no added ingredients
So what makes Vertical Water maple water special?
· Sourced, bottled, and packaged in the US
· Committed to its mission to conserve American forestlands
· Contains 1/3 the calories of coconut water, 1/3 the sugar of coconut water, and travels approximately 1/3 the distance of coconut water from forest to table
Vertical Water is available to purchase in select stores across the nation, use the store locator to find one in your area.

I have been eying the gelato in the stores lately, but haven't tried it yet. It does sound like there are some awesome flavor varieties!

I love the sorbetto and vinegar ideas. I try not to eat animal products but most sorbets actually are vegan. So it's a great refreshing treat. Thank you.
