Ever gone to a restaurant and enjoyed a dish so much that you went home and couldn’t stop thinking about it? Maybe you even tried to make it. The beginning of the cookbook includes lots of information and tips about grilling – types of grills, different grill settings, foods that you grill, cooking tips, notes on ingredients, and much more. I just started grilling on my own this year and as a grilling novice I found it helpful. Then come the recipes.

All of the recipes are very easy to understand. I didn’t notice an exotic or unusual ingredients, it looked like everything would be stocked in a typical large local grocery store. I understand why recipes are grouped by restaurant instead of category. I sort of wish there was almost a second table of contents by category, otherwise you have to go through the index to see what’s where if you’re looking for something specific, like chicken for example. The recipes include a little information about the dish as well as tips for prep, cooking and storage. I love photos in cookbooks and it should be noted that this cookbook has no photos. Also missing are cooking and prep time, which I find invaluable when determining what recipes I’m going to make. A good number of these recipes have significant prep time and can’t be made quickly. This is not the kind of cookbook you just pick up and look for something to make at that time, you must be planning hours or days ahead to make best use of this cookbook.

This cookbook would be great for people that enjoy cooking, as well as those that enjoy dining out.

What’s your favorite restaurant to go to when dining out, and do you have a favorite dish there?
