Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to cook the peas?
No, you don’t need to cook the peas. Frozen peas have been blanched during the packaging process, which means they are already partially cooked.
Do I need to defrost the peas?
Yes, the peas need to be partially thawed. There’s no need to worry if you’re making this recipe in a hurry, it won’t take long to partially thaw the peas. Simply place the peas in a strainer and run them under cold water for a few minutes, then let them drain while you’re preparing the rest of the ingredients.
Can I use canned peas instead of frozen peas?
I don’t recommend it. Canned peas are not as firm and tend to be more squishy, which could result in disappointing salad.
How do I store leftovers?
Leftover pea salad should be stored in the fridge in an airtight container.
