My oldest is a high school senior. Graduation is at the end of this week. It’s taken me a bit of time and a lot of thinking to decide what to get him. Best Buy must have had people like me in mind when they put together their gift guide for grads. They’ve taken their top gift ideas, at a variety of price points, and broken them down into three categories in the Best Buy Gift Center:
- Moving out: Gifts for the Grad that is getting ready for college or may be simply moving out into the world on their own, help them get all set up.
- Networker: Grad that uses technology to keep totally connected while on the go with a variety of devices. This tech forward Grad leans on devices to make life easier go having the latest and greatest is always a priority.
- Fitness Fanatic: Gifts for this grad include tech and small appliances that play to their healthy, on the go, athletic nature. Out for a run, in the kitchen or at the gym, a great gifts for this grad helps them stay on track in many ways.
At this point in time my son is definitely a networker. That boy can’t not be connected. He texts so much that he wears his battery down! When at home he’s constantly looking to use my iPad or computer, since his laptop broke some time ago. One look at the list of recommended gifts for the Networker and I see a number of them that would be perfect for my son.
- iPhone 5s
- Lenovo Yoga 2 13″ Touch-Screen Laptop
- SONOS Play:1 Wireless Speaker for Streaming Music
- SanDisk Connect 32GB USB 2.0 Wireless Flash Drive
- Google Chromecast
- iTunes Gift Card $50
- Jawbone MINI Jambox Wireless Speaker
- mophie space pack External Battery Case
- Surface 2 64GB AT&T 4G LTE
- Surface Keyboard Cover
- Samsung S-View Flip Cover for Note 3
- Seagate Backup Plus Slim 1TB External USB Portable Hard Drive
- Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Dual-Band Wireless-AC Router
- Speck CandyShell Cell Phone Case
No doubt the boy needs a mophie. That’s a given. The Lenovo Yoga 2 13″ Touch-Screen Laptop would be perfect for my son because if he goes to college as he’s stated he’ll need it to do his work, instead of always borrowing mine. And iTunes Gift Cards, they’re always welcome in this house. My son loves music like his Mom, and he’s always asking me to buy new songs for him.

Two (intermediate and high school) graduates. I got them respectively a gown and a tux. That way they could have princeless moments and memories.

Chromecast is a great gift idea for grads, especially for those who don't have cable available in the dorms.

Tech gifts are the best to give because most graduates are headed off to college afterwards. Best Buy has a lot of awesome options!
