My oldest loves bacon. We all love bacon here, but he LOVES bacon. He also LOVES steak. I decided to make him some London broil with bacon. I thought about actually wrapping the meat but in the end decided to just cover the top, as I thought that would work better for serving. It was super easy to make and pairs well with both hot and cold sides. He loved the steak. Here’s how I made it.
BBQ Bacon London Broil
Ingredients
- 2 lb London Broil steak
- 1 lb bacon
- seasoning salt
- bbq sauce (I didn’t measure but if I had to guess it was about 1/3 – 1/2 cup)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325 f.
Place steak on large pan.
Score the top of the meat in several places and season with the seasoning salt. Then, place a coating of BBQ sauce across the top of the meat.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Remove meat from oven and cover the top of it with the bacon.
Put the meat back into the oven and bake for 20-30 minutes, depending on how done you like your meat.
Let sit for a few minutes before slicing.
Slice and serve with your favorite sides.

Had high hopes for this recipe, still do, but the times were no where to close at all, 35 minutes and it was barely medium and the bacon wasn't at all crispy. Had to separate it out and give it a bit longer. Also was significantly more cooked on the bottom than on the bacon covered top. Will try it again, but with significant modification, bacon on the bottom for one and a longer time for two, or maybe a thinner London Broil.

Thanks for trying it! We like our meat rare to medium rare so that's how I made it. The bacon as cooked in recipe should be cooked and chewy and not crispy, should someone want crispy bacon they would obviously need to adjust.

I LOVE steak-not so much bacon (Don't gasp!!!). This does sound like an interesting combination and I may try it one day.
