School starts next week in my area. In some areas of the country it’s already underway. Sadly, for some students the end of summer signifies not only the end of summer fun and a return to schoolwork, but also a return to a hostile environment where they are bullied by fellow students.

What does Social Protection monitor for?
Social Protection monitors Facebook for cyberbullying and other signs of violence, as well as depression, mentions of suicide, sexual activity and questionable photos. When Social Protection finds something it notifies the parents.

Concerned that maybe your child will access Facebook after bedtime? Well, the program can even notify parents if Facebook is accessed outside of approved times during the day.
Through a combination of technology and cyber-tough love, SocialProtection scans and analyzes all Facebook content including language, photos, and content, to protect children from harmful situations. The site ONLY alerts a parent when questionable or dangerous content or photos are posted. It does not give access to the child’s entire existence on Facebook or restrict a child’s social life.
