Homemade Apple Cheesecake Recipe

Recently I found myself with a good amount of leftover applesauce. I thought it would be fun to try and use it in a cheesecake. Yes, I’ll use almost any reason to try and come up with a new cheesecake. I used a 9 inch springform pan for this. It’s very yummy!

Homemade Apple Cheesecake

Equipment Needed

  • 9 inch springform pan
  • mixing bowl
  • blender
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • meat tenderizer

Ingredients

  • 3x 8 oz Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
  • 8x cinnamon graham crackers, crushed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice
  • 1 cup chunky cinnamon applesauce
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 apple, sliced very thin

Instructions

Preheat oven to 325 f.

Place graham crackers into a baggie. Using the flat side of a meat tenderizer, break the crackers up into crumbs, as fine as you can get them.

In a small bowl combine the graham cracker crumbs and the butter, and mix well.

Place the graham cracker crumb mix into a layer on the bottom of the springform pan.

In mixing bowl combine cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, apple pie spice and applesauce. Mix on low speed until well blended.

Pour cream cheese mixture into springform pan over the crust.

Place the sliced apples on top for a little decoration and texture.

The apples will brown while cooking. If you prefer, leave them off and place on top of the finished cheesecake as a garnish. I will be leaving them off the next time I make this.

We love cheesecake, and I make it frequently, but I've never made nor tried an apple cheesecake before. I'll bet my husband would enjoy this, so I will have to pin it.

This is a unique recipe! I have some apples that are starting to get soft, I'll have to make this with them!
