TJ accompanied me on a trip to the grocery store, a rare thing for him. The fun started in aisle 3, where personal hygiene items are. I asked him if he had enough deodorant. Not only did we need Axe deodorant, we needed more Axe as well. Girls, get your nose clips ready! Since we were right there in front of what seemed like every acne product in the world, I asked him if he needed any more skin care products. He did not.
Now we moved on to aisle 6. A song I like came on and I was sort of dancing in the aisle. He backed away like I had leprosy. I asked him if he’d dance with me and he replied “I don’t dance with random people”. I reminded him I’m his Mom and far from random, to which he replied “I mean, I only dance with other people I know”.
Now we moved on to the condiments aisle, where I was looking at some marinades and sauces. First he informs me that worchestershire is not pronounced worchestersheer-shire. He then asks me what I’m looking for. I tell him I want a sauce without anchovies. He says “isn’t that a disease?”.
Heading toward the checkout we stop in the snacks aisle because he’s asked for sunflower seeds. I point to the shelf and tell him the sunflower seeds are with the nuts. That made him laugh so hard I couldn’t stop laughing myself. My son may have cost me an extra $25 at the store but he also made it the most laughs I’ve ever had grocery shopping.
