Ever go to Wendy’s? If not, have you ever seen one? Chances are very good you said yes to one of those questions. When I first saw Wendy’s I wondered what Wendy (the girl) was smiling about.

I decided it was probably the Frosty, a yummy chocolate treat that I have had a love affair with since the 80s. I mean, I smile at least that big when I have one!
I went to Wendy’s this week and found a deal so good going on that it’s enough to make anyone smile.

Here’s the deal. Until October 31, 2014, if you visit your local participating Wendy’s® you can purchase a Jr. Frosty™ Halloween Coupon Book for $1, while supplies last. The coupon book will contain coupons for 5 or 10 free Jr. Frosty™ treats, depending on the market you’re in. Coupons are valid from 11/1/14 through 2/1/15. I got 10 coupons in my book! Ten cents for a Frosty! Whoohoo! The deal is great, but here’s the best part about it. Ninety cents to every $1 coupon booklet sold between 9/15/14 and 10/31/14 will benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption®. In short, these coupons have the ability to help children in foster care find families.

I am a great believer in adoption. Adoption is a person’s way of choosing their child. After marrying my Mom, my Dad adopted me – part and parcel, bags and baggage (and there was a lot of that). He wanted us to know that we were family and that he wanted us as children and loved us. I am forever grateful that he loved us enough to do that. I can’t imagine how children in the foster care system must feel, and how much they must yearn for a permanent home and forever family.
For 22 years, Wendy’s® has supported foster care adoption. The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption® (DTFA) believes that we as people have a responsibility to be the voice of foster care adoption, so that every child finds a family.
