Well surgery is today. I leave for the hospital in about twenty minutes. I’m nervous, excited and even a little sad. I enjoy eating. I wonder if I’ll miss it as much as I think. I wish it were simple. I wish I’d stayed in shape. I wish I could resist food. I wish I didn’t eat when I was hungry. I wish I’d never stopped exercising. I feel inside like I need do this for myself and for my children. I want to live. I want to feel better. Wish me luck.

I just read this, and though I'm sure the surgery is over by now, I know you have a long road ahead. I wish you the best of luck with all of it - I know someone who went through this and she is still doing great-4 years later!
