We'd love it if you shared it!

War Horse Poster

I have an announcement! And a problem. Some of you may have seen the television commercial for the DreamWorks movie War Horse, opening in theaters on Christmas Day. I am super excited to be able to announce that I have been invited to attend the red carpet premiere of this movie in New York City in early December. Of course, that is also the problem. Well, not directly. The problem is that I don’t have a clue what to wear to this event and I have to figure it out before the end of this weekend. And I have to find shoes. Help me out! What does a girl wear to a red carpet movie premiere?

Here’s some info on the movie War Horse, a PG-13 movie arriving in theaters on Christmas Day this year.

About War Horse

DreamWorks Pictures’ “War Horse,” director Steven Spielberg’s epic adventure, is a tale of loyalty, hope and tenacity set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War. “War Horse” begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets—British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter—before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man’s Land.

The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horse—an odyssey of joy and sorrow, passionate friendship and high adventure. “War Horse” is one of the great stories of friendship and war— a successful book, it was turned into a hugely successful international theatrical hit that is currently on Broadway. It now comes to screen in an epic adaptation by one of the great directors in film history.

Here’s the trailer.

A HUGE thanks to DreamWorks and Disney for this awesome opportunity!

Your safest with a fancy cocktail dress! Especially if you're going to the after party as well, which it sounds like you will be. There will be some in floor length gowns and some 20-year-olds in lycra micro-minis. Wear as comfortable shoes as you can, too. Leave your camera at home and your cell in the car, unless you want to check it at the door.

Don't eat before...the food is always fantastic! HAVE FUN!!!

That is AWESOME. I have to ask -- How did you become a part of such an amazing opportunity? I would LOVE to be invited to something like that... Anyway, if you haven't found your dress yet (or just for future reference, if you have), my friend told me about www.renttherunway.com; she swears by it for galas and other special events. Have a wonderful time, and please say "hi" to Tom Hiddleston for me.
