I remember years ago when my brothers were little how much they loved to watch Veggie Tales. The Veggie Tales are still around and just as much fun as they ever were. A new Veggie Tales movie has just been released – Veggie Tales: Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah’s Umbrella DVD.

We find our hero Minnesota Cuke (Larry Cucumber) on a hunt for Noah’s Ark. While on his hunt he learns that Noah had an umbrella with some great powers. Larry has to overcome some challenges and his own fears to find and save the umbrella before the bad guys.

Larry has the tendency to worry about what others think. He doesn’t want to be different but by acting according to what he thinks other people want he’s not being true to himself. What I love about this Veggie Tales movie, along with the others, is that the movie teaches a lesson to children without being preachy. The lesson of this movie is a lesson in confidence. I also love the little bits of humor throughout the movie. Like Larry looking in the rear view mirror- “I may be closer than I appear.” The movie is just good, clean fun, as the saying goes. This movie would be a wonderful addition to your collection if you’re looking for a very family and child friendly movie, if you’ve got small Veggie Tales fans or if you’re looking for a subtle message on the importance of self-confidence.
