What do you do when your bananas are too soft or starting to turn? Make banana bread of course. Here’s my recipe for banana bread. It’s super easy to follow and comes out very yummy.

Valmgs Banana Bread Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 3 large (or 4 small) bananas
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter (a 1/2 cup) – room temperature or softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Grease a 9×5 loaf pan or use a 9×5 silicone loaf pan.

Combine all ingredients and mix well.

Pour batter into loaf pan.

Bake for an hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan.

That’s it.

I had a bunch of bananas turning so I made three loves – banana bread, cinnamon banana bread and cinnamon chocolate chip banana bread. The recipe is super easy to adapt. My favorite thing about it is that you can control how much banana you taste by adding a little more or a little less. You can also add other ingredients, such as chocolate chips or nuts. For the cinnamon I just added 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon into the batter. The recipe is easy to double or triple, in case you want to make multiple loaves.

Oh I am for sure going to use this recipie.. The only thing I just thought funny is that you dont put in there about mashing the bananas first… So I pictured in my head slicing the bread and seeing a single banana running through the middle, lol
Thanks

I admit, I get a little lazy and throw them in for the mixer to take care of.

Thanks for posting your recipe, Valerie. I’m going to give it to my wife, so she can make us some. I’m not a baker man, myself. She’s better at baking than I am.
