Cheesy Spinach Stromboli #Recipe

We'd love it if you shared it!

I wanted to make something for hubby, who’s been a little cranky. He loves spinach, so I decided to make something that had spinach. This was simple and he absolutely loved it.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1X 17oz refrigerated pizza dough
  • 12 oz ricotta cheese
  • 10 oz steamable baby leaf spinach
  • 4 oz shredded mozzarella ceese
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 pat butter

DIRECTIONS

Let the dough sit out for about 15-20 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 400.
Cook the spinach in the microwave for 4 minutes.
Spray a cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
Roll out the dough. I roll mine into a rectangle that’s the size of the cookie sheet.

Lay the ricotta cheese down in a layer across the dough, leaving a little room around the edges for when you seal it later.

Spread the spinach out across the ricotta cheese.

Spread the onion powder over the spinach.

Fold the ends of the dough up and pinch shut. Pull the top and bottom together and pinch shut. I like to trim the excess dough from the ends, but it doesn’t hurt anything if you leave them. I trim them because they don’t have anything in them and they’re just a little more dough then we like.

Spread the pat of butter over the top of the dough.

Sprinkle the garlic powder over the dough.

Bake for 30 minutes or until the dough is turning golden brown.

Remove from oven and let sit for a few minutes.

Enjoy!

Bet it would work with other veggies as well.

While I would probably use my own homemade bread dough, I love the filling. Another great recipe courtesy of Valerie!
