We LOVE the Sprout Channel. My little guy has been a big fan…even before he could talk! A few weeks ago Sprout invited us to preview their new show Terrific Trucks. It was an offer I could not turn down, as my son loves trucks. What better place to preview Terrific Trucks than Diggerland USA. One of my sons favorite places (we are season pass holders), Diggerland is a construction themed amusement park. At Diggerland kids and adults get to jump into the driver seat of their favorite construction vehicles.
We all set out for a fun filled day at Diggerland. We arrived and were greeted with wonderful gift bags which had a Terrific Trucks hat and some cool shades. We sat down to a wonderful lunch awaiting the show. Cute little bean bags were set up for the kids to get nice and cozy while watching.
Terrific Trucks is an all new series airing on the Sprout channel. You can catch new episodes every Saturday morning at 9am. Terrific Trucks is a live actions series. This means the use all real trucks! The only animation used it for their eyes! Sprout enlisted two fleets of real trucks. Filming of Terrific Trucks took place in a real life quarry outside of Toronto, Canada. Each episode is 30 minutes long with each story being 11 minutes long.
Terrific Trucks follows around 5 real life trucks at a real construction site. Tork the dump truck, Dug the excavator, Blinker the scooper, Sparky the front end loader and Stotz the big city semi. The colors of the trucks are bright and the eyes make a cute touch. Blinker and Sparky are girls! I love how they included the two girls in the show. Not your typical truck show. It is for both boys AND girls. My little guy was so into this show!
I love how this series teaches the value of team work. All trucks must work together to solve the problem and get the job done. After we previewed the show we were in store for a real treat! A stunt show at Diggerland!
If you visit sproutonline.com you can meet the trucks and watch some video clips. They also have some wonderful games and activities for the kids. My little guy and I are going to make a tractor out of recycled egg cartons! Make sure to tune into Sprout every Saturday morning at 9 am for Terrific Trucks!
