Snowball Cookies are a classic winter cookie that everyone loves. They’re chewy, nutty and rolled in powdered sugar. You can use them for your holiday cookie platters or just enjoy them with some hot cocoa!
Homemade Snowball Cookies are the perfect treat to share with friends and family this holiday season! There’s no need to order them from a bakery, you can easily make them yourself right at home. You probably already have some, if not all, of the ingredients in your pantry.
To get started making this classic winter cookie, just follow our step by step instructions below!
Here’s how to make them.

Equipment Needed
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup crushed pecans
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 cup powered sugar

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees f.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the softened butter and a 1/2 cup of powdered sugar into a large mixing bowl and combine.
Add the vanilla to the bowl.

Slowly add the flour to the mixture.
Stir in the crushed pecans.

Roll the dough into teaspoon sized balls and place onto the baking sheet.

Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Remove the cookies from the oven and place onto a cooling rack.
Roll each snowball cookie in the leftover powered sugar.
Serve & enjoy!
