Sausage And Spaghetti Pie recipe

This is a recipe hubby really enjoys, but one that I don’t think to make all the time. It’s super easy to make and very filling. I made this one with sweet Italian sausage, but you could use hot sausage or even ground beef instead if you prefer. Here’s how I made it.

Sausage And Spaghetti Pie

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb thin spaghetti
  • 2 lb ground Italian sausage
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 12 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 f.

Boil the spaghetti until it’s al dente.

Spray a large baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

When the spaghetti is cooked, drain. Mix the eggs with the pasta and then distribute evenly in the baking dish.

Gently spread the ricotta cheese across the spaghetti.

Sprinkle 8 oz of the shredded mozzarella across the ricotta cheese.

Distribute the cooked sausage across the baking pan.

Pour the sauce over the sausage, making sure it extends to cover the top of everything.

Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top.

Bake for 20 minutes, or until top cheese is melted.

That looks delicious and I would have never thought of adding sausage! Since my boys all love sausage I'll have to give this a try for dinner this week!

I totally need to make this. I have about 10 boxes of spaghetti in the house and need to change it up a bit. Thanks for the idea!

Sounds like something my hubby would like, but where do the eggs go?

You mix the eggs with the spaghetti. Clarified the recipe, thanks for the heads up.
