As a mom of two young children, I might seem like an overprotective parent. But when it comes to our children, is that even possible?! They are part of us walking around outside of our bodies! Without a doubt, they are the most important people in my life, in addition to my husband and myself. That is why I absolutely love this concept!

So, what if there were an extra step you could take to protect your little ones when you knew you’d be out and about? Sometimes children are just too young or unable to speak for themselves or remember a lot of personal information, such as addresses or phone numbers. What if something could do that for them in the event they were lost or became temporarily separated from you at an event?

Michele Welsh, inventor of SafetyTat temporary child ID tattoos, thought of this as she and her family were at an amusement park one Labor Day weekend. Feeling outnumbered with three little ones, she quickly calmed her panic by writing her cell phone number on each of her children’s arms with a ballpoint pen. She made sure her children understood the importance of staying close to her and her husband. But if they were to become separated while at the amusement park, the number on their arm would reconnect them.

Although Michele had to rewrite the number every time it smeared or washed off throughout their fun day, she knew it was necessary to have on there. As many parents began stopping her to ask if the number on her children’s arms was hers, she began to think. Seeing how the idea of having the number on the children was truly loved, Michele came up with the amazing concept of SafetyTat temporary child id tattoos.

If you’ve ever allowed your child to wear the fun, temporary tattoos, you will see that these are basically the same idea and application, but with far more importance.

Some SafetyTat tips, I also agree with, are to keep an extra sheet or two in your purse or wallet or even give some to babysitters or troop leaders to use.

What other ways can you think of? What events would you use SafetyTat during?

Tattoos on young children make then think the adult ones are what they must have next--is this a good message to instill in our young?

I think these are a great idea. I'd really love these for amusement parks where I get so nervous with a lot of people around. It only takes a second for a child to wander off!
