Recipes are well written and easy to understand. The recipes even include which book and what chapter the food is mentioned in. I love the way the author has woven together the recipes and information that invokes memories of the books we’ve read. There are notes, facts, trivia and tips on almost every page of the book, highlighted in a little scroll. I do think it would be very helpful if the prep and cooking time were included, as that’s very helpful information to have when you’re deciding what to make. Sadly, there are no photos in the book, something I feel all cookbooks need. There are lots of recipes in here that I’m looking forward to trying, especially the Chicken & Hm Pie and the Beef Stew With Herb Dumplings. If you’re a Harry Potter fan or a cookbook collector you’ll want to snap this title up.

I think the tween would enjoy the book, if they have fun with the humorous tidbits.. let them at it. I would recommend it for any serious Harry Potter Fan.

My kids and I have really fallen out of the Harry Potter cult, very disillusioned. Hence, we really would not buy this book, and my kids will not be clamoring for it. Plus, for a book with no pictures of its recipes, and being more a trivia book than a recipe book, I feel that it is overpriced.
