Senegence LipSense

I love trying new lip colors. Recently when I learned of SeneGence LipSense two things grabbed my interest. The first was that the company was supporting a good cause by raising money for breast cancer research in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Through October 31, 2013 SeneGence will be donating a portion of the profits from the sales of the pink shade Kiss For A Cause through their non-profit Make Sense Foundation to support breast cancer awareness. Here’s more on that.

“According to about 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime and for women in the United States, breast cancer death rates are higher than death rates for any other type of cancer, besides lung cancer,” said SeneGence Founder and CEO, Joni Rogers-Kante. We want to do our part at SeneGence to make sure we are helping this cause and supporting research, early detection, treatment and education.”

About SeneGence International – SeneGence’s full line of long-lasting cosmetics and anti-aging skincare is sold through a network of Independent Distributors around the world. About The Make Sense Foundation-The Make Sense Foundation (MSF) was created by Joni Rogers-Kante as part of the overall plan to make a meaningful contribution. As a non-profit organization, it is separate from SeneGence, but works closely with its Independent Distributors raising funds for those in need. Based on the fundamental mission of helping women and children in crisis, The Make Sense Foundation thrives on directly donating to deserving organizations that support those in need across the country. To date, The MSF has donated to dozens of non-profit organizations from coast to coast and will continue to support women and children in crisis for years to come. Breast cancer awareness is such an important issue, I love to see companies trying to support it.

SeneGence LipSense Colors

The second thing that had grabbed my interest was that LipSense was not a traditional lip color product. LipSense comes in a tube with an applicator like many lip glosses. But, it isn’t a lip gloss. It’s more like a lip stain. My sister-in-law and I checked these products out together. While applying we noticed a different feeling. It was a sort of tingly feeling. It definitely wasn’t a painful feeling, but it was a bit odd, mostly because it was unexpected. We tried to get the color off on purpose.Once you put LipSense on your lips, it doesn’t come off.  The color wouldn’t come off, despite the fact that we tried licking, wiping, chewing, biting and smearing the color off. Nothing we did made the color come off, not even baby wipes. We didn’t wait 18 hours to see if it would wear off then, but we did wait a few hours before using Ooops Remover, which took it off immediately.

Now on to the topic of color.  LipSense is available in over 50 shades. LipSense shades can be combined to create hundreds of custom color possibilities. Also you can wear them as is, or you can put SeneGence Gloss over it to make them shiny. We both loved the colors after applying the lip gloss, the shine really made the color pop. Plus, the gloss gives a moist and almost slick feeling, which lasted quite some time. I was surprised the shine from the gloss lasted so long, but it did. Here’s the Kiss For A Cause color both without gloss (left) and with gloss (right).

These are pretty colors! My grandmother had breast cancer and it is devastating. I’m so grateful to those that contribute to making a brighter future for women that encounter this awful disease.

Debi@TheSpringMount6Pack November 3, 2013 - 12:11 pm

Ohh very cool am impress with the colorful lips.

Jennifer Wagner November 3, 2013 - 1:17 pm

I have to try this. I’ve been thinking I need to use a lip stain. Lip glosses wear off my lips in no time.

Rosey November 3, 2013 - 5:21 pm

I like that it’s sort of a stain format, that’s my favorite because it looks more natural.

Mariah November 3, 2013 - 5:56 pm

I love the look of a stain over a straight lipstick. And I love the support of an important cause!

Jennifer Clay November 3, 2013 - 6:57 pm

I really like that pink color and raising awareness for breast cancer is always great!

Emily November 3, 2013 - 7:54 pm

I’m always up for trying lip products that claim to be long lasting, and supporting breast cancer research makes it even better. My aunt had it last year but is now cancer free.

kim November 3, 2013 - 7:54 pm

Love lip glass and love that color you put on. What a great cause too!

Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell November 3, 2013 - 7:57 pm

That’s so interesting that it really does stay on! That’s serious lasting power!

Lindsey @ Redhead Baby Mama November 3, 2013 - 9:14 pm

I can not live without lip stain. Lipstick wears off of me just as soon as I look at it. And in 50 shades, this sounds like a good fit for most!

Ange November 3, 2013 - 11:31 pm

Super shiny, such a great gloss! I will have to check it out.

Jenn November 4, 2013 - 8:23 am

I love the shiny one, those seem to work best on me. I love companies that support a cause makes me want to buy from them instead of another company.

Grace Hodgin November 4, 2013 - 8:27 am

Thanks for introducing me to this product. I think staying power is so important for the lips. Especially in Florida during summers when carry lipstick with me can sometimes be a mistake.

Donna November 4, 2013 - 8:30 am

I love companies that support worthy causes! And, I really love that the color lasts, because that’s my biggest issues with lipsticks/glosses.

Ashley November 4, 2013 - 9:08 am

Those colors are truly lovely.

Jessica Cassidy November 4, 2013 - 9:45 am

Awww! Looking pretty and help a great cause is the best combination ever 🙂

Kristi @dragonflytweet November 4, 2013 - 11:47 am

This was a great review and I am glad you mentioned how hard it was to get it off. I don’t wear lipstick very often, but when I do I love to support companies that know the value of giving back.

cindy b November 4, 2013 - 1:38 pm

Ooh love these colors! I had never heard of this brand! Will def be checking it out! Thanks for sharing your review!

Lisa November 4, 2013 - 4:56 pm

I love the idea of a long-wearing lipstick or gloss, but lipstains always make my lips soooo dry!!! Did this one dry your lips out? They look really moist with the gloss over them, so it’s hard to tell! Thanks for making me aware of a brand that gives back.

Cassie @ Southeast by Midwest November 4, 2013 - 5:21 pm

I’ve never heard of this brand before but the color looks gorgeous.

MommaDJane November 6, 2013 - 9:05 am

I love all the varieties of colors and the glossiness.

Cara November 12, 2013 - 3:41 pm

I love my LipSense!! I like that the gloss comes in varieties with glitter in them as well (not the big chunks, but small delicate sparkles).

Christina Silva March 9, 2014 - 8:35 pm

What is the color between kiss for a cause and army pink?

valmg March 15, 2014 - 3:09 pm

I’m not sure, perhaps just subtle shading?

c March 15, 2014 - 10:40 pm

No, I mean what is the lip sense color in the top pic with the tubes between kiss for a cause and party pink? I can’t read the name on the label sticker, lol and the one after army pink 🙂 Those are both really pretty colors…I think they might be fire n ice and aussie rose?
