Senegence LipSense

I love trying new lip colors. Recently when I learned of SeneGence LipSense two things grabbed my interest. The first was that the company was supporting a good cause by raising money for breast cancer research in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Through October 31, 2013 SeneGence will be donating a portion of the profits from the sales of the pink shade Kiss For A Cause through their non-profit Make Sense Foundation to support breast cancer awareness. Here’s more on that.

“According to BreastCancer.org about 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime and for women in the United States, breast cancer death rates are higher than death rates for any other type of cancer, besides lung cancer,” said SeneGence Founder and CEO, Joni Rogers-Kante. We want to do our part at SeneGence to make sure we are helping this cause and supporting research, early detection, treatment and education.”

About SeneGence International – SeneGence’s full line of long-lasting cosmetics and anti-aging skincare is sold through a network of Independent Distributors around the world. About The Make Sense Foundation-The Make Sense Foundation (MSF) was created by Joni Rogers-Kante as part of the overall plan to make a meaningful contribution. As a non-profit organization, it is separate from SeneGence, but works closely with its Independent Distributors raising funds for those in need. Based on the fundamental mission of helping women and children in crisis, The Make Sense Foundation thrives on directly donating to deserving organizations that support those in need across the country. To date, The MSF has donated to dozens of non-profit organizations from coast to coast and will continue to support women and children in crisis for years to come. Breast cancer awareness is such an important issue, I love to see companies trying to support it.

SeneGence LipSense Colors

The second thing that had grabbed my interest was that LipSense was not a traditional lip color product. LipSense comes in a tube with an applicator like many lip glosses. But, it isn’t a lip gloss. It’s more like a lip stain. My sister-in-law and I checked these products out together. While applying we noticed a different feeling. It was a sort of tingly feeling. It definitely wasn’t a painful feeling, but it was a bit odd, mostly because it was unexpected. We tried to get the color off on purpose.Once you put LipSense on your lips, it doesn’t come off.  The color wouldn’t come off, despite the fact that we tried licking, wiping, chewing, biting and smearing the color off. Nothing we did made the color come off, not even baby wipes. We didn’t wait 18 hours to see if it would wear off then, but we did wait a few hours before using Ooops Remover, which took it off immediately.

Now on to the topic of color.  LipSense is available in over 50 shades. LipSense shades can be combined to create hundreds of custom color possibilities. Also you can wear them as is, or you can put SeneGence Gloss over it to make them shiny. We both loved the colors after applying the lip gloss, the shine really made the color pop. Plus, the gloss gives a moist and almost slick feeling, which lasted quite some time. I was surprised the shine from the gloss lasted so long, but it did. Here’s the Kiss For A Cause color both without gloss (left) and with gloss (right).

I'm not sure, perhaps just subtle shading?

I love my LipSense!! I like that the gloss comes in varieties with glitter in them as well (not the big chunks, but small delicate sparkles).

I've never heard of this brand before but the color looks gorgeous.

I love the idea of a long-wearing lipstick or gloss, but lipstains always make my lips soooo dry!!! Did this one dry your lips out? They look really moist with the gloss over them, so it's hard to tell! Thanks for making me aware of a brand that gives back.
