Miracle-Gro has announced its latest gardening innovation, Gro-ables Seed Pods! These are a super-easy solution for those who want to grow their own healthy foods but don’t want the hassle or simply don’t know how. Like myself. I’ll be the first to admit that while I love to garden, I’m far from an expert. Gro-ables took away the time-consuming process and the complicated details and make it so easy, my 8-year old daughter could help me!
Each ready-to-plant Seed Pod comes with a seed planted at just the right depth, growing materials to protect the seed and keep it moist, and plant food to help it grow and build strong roots. Simply place your Seed Pod in soil outside or in a container with soil, water daily, and watch it grow!
Gro-ables Seed Pods can be bought as a Salad Garden kit with 12 pods: bush bean, butterhead lettuce, cherry tomato, cucumber, globe tomato, loose-leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, snap pea, spinach, and sweet pepper, and the Herb Garden kit with 6 pods: basil, cilantro, and dill.
My daughter and I planted spinach and basil – literally within 5 minutes. We had some small indoor planter pots that were perfect for the pods. We used some leftover soil from the flowers we planted outside in the Spring and planted the pods with the soil.
After only 4 days, we saw small sprouts forming. About 2 weeks later, here are our sprouts now:
With absolutely minimal time and work, we have full-fledged spinach and basil sprouts growing right on our kitchen window sill! I absolutely can’t wait to try them out.
