REVIEW – PF Chang’s Home Menu Frozen Meals

We'd love it if you shared it!

Pf Changs Sweet & Sour Chicken

Wouldn’t it be nice if anytime we craved a certain food all we had to do to get it was open the freezer? That would be cool! One food I have never been able to cook well is Chinese food. I admit, I stopped trying after the great Chinese food fiasco of 1978. Now, we either order takeout or do without. Thanks to PF Chang’s Home Menu, there’s a third option.

PF Chang’s Home Menu is a line of frozen Chinese meals designed by PF Chang’s chefs that are very similar to what you might get if you went out to eat or ordered take out. The line includes eight different dishes prepared with quality ingredients such as edamame, water chestnuts, snap peas and bok choy. Each entree includes chicken, beef or shrimp, with up to 25 percent of total volume in protein.

  • Orange Chicken
  • Shanghai Style Beef
  • Sweet & Sour Chicken
  • General Chang’s Chicken
  • Ginger Chicken & Broccoli
  • Beef with Broccoli
  • Shrimp in a Garlic Sauce
  • Shrimp Lo Mein

We received a coupon for an entrée of our choice, we went with PF Chang’s Sweet & Sour Chicken. We chose that because it’s a dish we’ve had out and as take out many times from many different restaurants and we thought that would make a good basis for comparison of taste. The frozen meal sells for $7.99 in my grocery store. The meals are extremely easy to prepare. To make the Sweet & Sour Chicken all I had to do was open the bag and pour it into the skillet.

Just over ten minutes later dinner was finished. All I’d done was heat it and stir it.

The meal was fresh and tasty, as good as some that we’ve had in restaurants. The only suggestion I have is that they reconsider portion size. The entrée was definitely not enough for two people on its own. What you see on the plate in the picture below is all of the product. I served mine over rice in order to have enough for two.

PF Chang’s Home Menu frozen meals are available in select grocery stores and stores like Target nationwide. For more information and to locate a retailer in your area visit www.pfchangshomemenu.com.

just had the Spicy Shechwan Chicken, awful, I didn't know you could make mushrooms out of rubber. The "chicken" was dry and tasteless and cubed smaller than the size of a pencil eraser. No wonder it was buy one get one at Publix,

Tried a PF chang frozen dinner today. Won't buy any more. There was barely enough in the bowl for a snack
