MY THOUGHTS

I received a copy of Making Craft Cider. Chapters include Cidermaking – Traditional and Scientific, Apple Selection and Harvesting, From Apples To Must, Measurement Blending and Additions, From Fermentation To Tasting, Sweet and Sparkling Cider and Cider Brandy, and Competitions Wassails Fetes Raffles and Sales. I LOVE apple cider. I’m only part way through this book but I’m finding it interesting because I never realized how much went into making apple cider. The book contains lots of color pictures, history and information. If a person paid close enough attention they could to make their own cider using this book as a reference. There are even blank charts included in the back of the book to use. The only issue I have with the book is that the print is REALLY small, so it’s hard for me to just relax because I’m working to read it. Anyone who enjoys cider or food history, or that is thinking about making cider, will appreciate this book.

The taste of cider like the taste of wine makes it good or not. I never thought about people making cider. Wonder what it entails.

The picture of apples sure looks delicious. Not sure I would want to make my own when I could just buy it.
