MY THOUGHTS
I received a Hello Kitty® Digital Camera for review. The camera is very cute and my daughter loved the option to change faceplate covers. Upon opening the package, I was a bit disheartened to find that no AAA batteries came with the camera – always a negative to us moms who have to scramble around to find batteries! The battery compartment was also pretty difficult to open, and didn’t quite ‘slide’ as easily as the instructions suggested.
The viewing screen itself is rather small and difficult to view pictures on, but is what I expected with a child’s camera. The flash is not very useful: using it just washes out the subject. However, taking photos inside the house with ordinary light and no flash worked just fine. The photos are not of great quality, but again, I expect this from a camera made for children. The Snap N Share software is cute; the child can add frames and designs to their photos and the photos upload pretty easily. It did take a few minutes to figure out though, so you may need to help your child upload photos.
In short, this camera is what I and my daughter expected. Not quite ‘high quality’, but provides an easy form of entertainment and a way for her to take her own photos without having to borrow my camera.
This would make a great starter camera for the holidays.
