You can frequently find some frozen pizza in our freezer. TJ likes it for a snack from time to time and there have been occasions where I made it for dinner after a busy or particularly tiring day. We’ve tried Freschetta pizza before and were pleased with it, so I was happy to accept the opportunity to try new Freschetta By The Slice.

MY THOUGHTS

Freschetta By The Slice is available in four varieties:

• BBQ Recipe Chicken
• Chicken, Spinach & Mushroom
• Six Cheese Medley
• Vegetable Medley

I received a coupon good for choice of any one of the flavors, along with a storage set. I chose the BBQ Recipe Chicken because it was the only one I was at all interested in trying and one of the two my husband can eat. I’m sure the other two varieties taste fine but they contain mushrooms, which are a serious health issue for the hubby and a food I just don’t like. The Freschetta By The Slice is easy to make. All you need to do is remove the plastic and then microwave for 2:30. Once mine was out and I removed the red peppers from my half we were good to go. I found the crust to be closer to pizzeria style than other individual or small serving size frozen pizza that I’ve tried. RB was glad that it wasn’t super thick. We both found the ample barbeque sauce to be flavorful, and that there was a reasonable amount of cheese. We both agreed we’d like to have seen a bit more chicken. I would like to see more varieties available in the future, perhaps a teen friendly pepperoni for example. At that point it would be a product I would consider purchasing and keeping in the freezer.
