MY THOUGHTS
Though Doc McStuffins is a girl and her world is rather colorful and, well, girly, I wouldn’t consider this just a “girl’s show”. And though it is a Disney Junior show, I wouldn’t consider this just a toddler or preschooler’s show. Basically, this adorable series doesn’t fit the stereotypical mold of children’s shows. I know of several boys and girls alike who enjoy the show, as well as children of several ages. My 1 year old and 8 year old like to watch it together!
“The Doc is In” features the following episodes:
• Gulpy, Gulpy Gators! / One Note Wonder
• Tea Party Tantrum / Blast Off!
• Arcade Escapade / Starry, Starry Night
• Bronto Boo-Boos / Brontosaurus Breath
• Doctoring The Doc / Hot Pursuit
I appreciate that the episodes are short, which is perfect for younger kids. I also love that Doc gets wrapped up in her own imagination, toys coming to life and all! Doc also helps take the scariness out of going to the doctor by helping to fix up broken toys and teaching kids how they can stay healthy by eating a good diet and getting lots of rest. This is a show that easily slides in educational facts while providing humor and cuteness along the way.
Here’s a clip called Gabby the Giraffe.
