MY THOUGHTS

I received a copy of Cookies At Home With the Culinary Institute Of America. Chapters include

  • Cookie Baking Equipment
  • Basic Baking Ingredients and Methods
  • Decor and Packaging
  • Drop Cookies
  • Bar Cookies
  • Rolled, Cut-Out, and Sliced Cookies
  • Molded, Stenciled, and Shaped Cookies
  • Piped and Twice-Baked Cookies
  • Savory Cookies

The recipes are all easy to understand  and contain a little information on prep or serving at the top. I found the photography in this book interesting. There are lots of photos in the tutorial areas, which is great. And the tutorials themselves are great, and there are plenty of them. But not all of the recipes have photos; I think every recipe needs a photo. Recipes also do not include prep and cooking time, which is one of the two main things I consider when picking what new recipe I want to try from a cookbook. This cookbook would make a good addition to an experienced baker’s collection.
