Usually when I hear the term snack bar I think of granola bars. Recently I learned of the company CLIF Kid, maker of organic snacks including the CLIF BAR and Organic Twisted Fruit.

MY THOUGHTS
I received samples of the CLIF BAR in Chocolate Chip, Blueberry, Honey Graham, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Brownie, and S’mores flavors. I like that the CLIF BAR is individually wrapped for convenience and portability. There is 120 calories per one bar serving, and 3g protein and 3g dietary fiber per bar. My younger son can’t eat them since they have gluten. They’re a bit small for an after school snack for my older son, but may work well as a quick snack while he’s at track meets come springtime.
The SRP for CLIF BAR is $1.39 per bar.
I rather enjoyed the Twisted Fruit. I received one of each flavor – Strawberry, Grape, Mixed Berry, Pineapple, Sour Apple and Tropical Twist. At 70 calories per piece they’re very flavorful, with a taste similar to real fruit with no chemical taste. It looks like thick licorice. It smells like fruit rollup. My favorite flavor is Strawberry, followed by Mixed Berry and Grape. The pieces have great texture, they’re not too soft and not too tough. They’re a little less chewy than the thick style of licorice. I really like that they’re individually wrapped and contain the expiration date, making it easy to store and feel confident serving. The package mentions Certified Organic but not gluten-free anywhere I could find, that would be helpful.
