We are meat eaters in our house and sausage is a favorite. I’d never even thought of trying to make my own sausage, or any other meat, so The Complete Guide To Sausage Making intrigued me greatly.

MY THOUGHTS
I received a copy of The Complete Guide To Sausage Making. Chapters include All About Sausage, Tools And Materials, Food Safety, Sausage Basics, Smoking And Cooking Sausages, Fresh Sausage, Dry Semidry And Hard Sausages, Cooked Sausages, and Specialty Sausages. The history of sausage explains the background of different sausages. Tools And Materials covers popular equipment options for making your own sausage. I had no idea there were so many different products available on the market for this! Sausage Basics gets into what you put into your sausage and why. The remaining chapters get into the different ways to make sausages and include recipes. Recipes are well written and easy to understand. They call for regular ingredients that you have or can easily get. At the end of each recipe is packaging and storage suggestions. What I really like is that this book includes lots of pictures, in many instances one or more per page, illustrating the steps you need to take or what something should look like. If you’re a sausage fan, a meat lover, cookbook collector, or someone who wants to try something new, this book is for you!

I like Kielbasa sausage, but not the type you buy sealed in plastic at the grocery store. My parents used to get it at a meat market when I was a child, and I wish I knew which one, as they had the best sausage I can ever remember eating. I have found a couple of stores where they make their own, or carry an srtisenal brand, but I've never found anything close to what my mom used to make...like so many things she made in her kitchen...
